Profile

John Hogarth has been Professor of Law since 1978. Prior to joining the Allard School of Law, Professor Hogarth was Professor (1970-73) and Associate Professor (1967-69) at Osgoode Hall Law School and Assistant Professor at University of Toronto Faculty of Law (1965-67). He served as Director of the Institute of Public Policy Analysis at Simon Fraser University from 1973-74 and Chair of the B.C. Police Commission from 1974-77. Professor Hogarth has also served as a Consultant to the Provincial and Federal Governments, The United Nations, and was President and CEO of the Legal Information Systems & Technologies Foundation.

Professor Emeritus Hogarth’s teaching subjects include: Criminal Law, Sentencing, Restorative Justice, Dispute Resolution, Torts, Police Accountability and Criminal Justice Policy.
