The Allard School of Law at UBC is pleased to announce a gift of $50,000 from Alexander Holburn Beaudin + Lang LPP to establish an entrance scholarship in honour of founding partner William M. Holburn, Q.C. Scholarships valued at $5,000 will be available for students entering the J.D. program who demonstrate academic excellence.
“Our firm is pleased to establish a scholarship that will help attract the best and brightest students to the Allard School of Law,” said Bruno De Vita, Q.C., Managing Partner of Alexander Holburn. “In addition, the scholarship honours the legacy of Bill Holburn, our founding partner who recently retired after close to 50 years of practice. Bill was devoted to establishing excellence in service to our clients and this dedication is reflected in this scholarship, which we hope will serve as an inspiration to incoming students.”
“The Allard School of Law is grateful for this generous gift in support of our students,” said Dean Catherine Dauvergne. “Entrance scholarships are a powerful recruitment tool which allow us to compete with other leading law schools for top students.”
In addition to this new commitment, Alexander Holburn generously supports a number of ongoing student awards at the Allard School of Law, including the Kenneth H. Crook Memorial Scholarship, the Alexander Holburn Prize in Torts, and the Alexander Holburn Ernie Alexander, Q.C. Memorial Award in Law.
We thank Alexander Holburn Beaudin + Lang LLP for its continued support of Allard School of Law students.
