Vancouver Convention Centre, Ballroom A (999 Canada Place)
Do you want to summer or article at a small or boutique law firm or for the government? The CSO’s upcoming Small & Boutique Firm Career Fair (Thu, Mar 1, 6-8pm, Vancouver Convention Centre) is a great opportunity to meet lawyers from these employers! Relationships built at this annual event have led many students to secure summer/articling positions. Often, these firms won’t know that they want to hire a student until they meet the right person – and that could be you!
Who should attend:
- 1L students: Attend to start developing relationships with prospective summer/articling employers.
- 2L, 3L & graduate students: This Career Fair is tailored for YOU, as this is the time of year that small and boutique firms will be thinking about hiring summer/articling students.
- All current Allard Law students are welcome!
We currently have 25 employers attending, including representatives from the federal and provincial government, and full-service and boutique (IP, litigation, personal injury, corporate-commercial, employment & labour, criminal, Aboriginal, tax, criminal, and municipal) law firms from the Lower Mainland, Okanagan, Vancouver Island, and beyond.
You do not need to RSVP. Students will be provided with a name tag at the registration desk. Business attire (i.e., a suit) is recommended. Complementary appetizers and a cash bar will be available.
Do you have questions about what happens at a Career Fair, or on how to effectively network with legal employers? Please see the CSO’s How to Interact with Legal Employers handout, available in Symplicity's Document Library, to help you prepare for the event.
